The Pepsi challenge. Do Chance students prefer Pepsi, or Coke?

1. We will have a secret ballot to determine which cola Chance students claim to prefer. How big a margin will it take to convince you that there really is a definite preference for Pepsi or Coke?
2. Let each student toss a coin times, where is the number of people voting in the poll above. How big a margin will it take to convince you that there really is a definite preference for heads or tails?

Discussion (second hour)

Which do you prefer?

1. Let each student be given a chance to say which of two unmarked portions of caramel-colored sugar-water (one Pepsi, and one Coke) they actually prefer.

Read Chapters 14 and 15 in FPPA. Do review exercises in Chapter 15 on page 243 problems 1, 2, 7, 8.
